| A new product we are just launching is a location
power supply vehicle for small-scale film or TV production.
Nothing else like it exists in the country, providing a low
cost, silent alternative to expensive generating sets or noisy
petrol generators. Based in a Land Rover with go anywhere capability,
it provides 12v power for lighting and camera power and 2x1000watt
240volt outlets for mains lighting.
A further benefit
is a director’s
station for viewing video assist or replay with screened
mains and a viewing
table within the vehicle. An additional generator is also
provided for extra power (up to 2.5kW) where sync sound is
not required. This vehicle runs silently and has been used
on a number of productions, including a series in London
and a feature film shot in Hampshire in 2003.
Suitable lighting equipment is available to bring out the
full potential of this vehicle. The vehicle can be configured
to individual requirements depending on the nature of the
deployment.
There are reinforced areas on the vehicle to enable use as
a camera platform.
Currently in development is a platform at the rear of the
vehicle to enable tracking shots on the move.
Gemini Production Services Ltd also undertaken specialist
conversion work on vehicles for a number of clients, including
the provision of camera platforms and power systems.
